Thank you for arranging our 6th grade trip to GMRI. The trip was a wonderful bridge into the new school year. From start to finish, my students were excited, awed, engaged and inspired. Cornville is a well-loved and respected little rural school yet, our resources are limited. Your organization provided an experience beyond anything we could hope for or imagine. The ripples of learning are still expanding today. Please know that you made a difference in the lives of my students. ![]()

I learned so much, but I also had a great time learning it all. I got to experience what it was actually like to be a scientist, and I loved it. It was so much more than what I pictured in my mind. Once again, thank you very much. ![]()

Thank you for taking time out of your day and letting us experiment with the fish. We had a fantastic time exploring the Gulf of Maine. We learned many facts like the real name for the X-fish, what the X-fish eats, and where it is on the food web. At the station that we got to go on a virtual boat ride and catch fish to sell and make money was a lot of fun. We got to identify a fish, swimming like a fish, and see what they eat. We had an awesome time. ![]()

It is so rewarding as educators to see our students truly engaged at GMRI. In combining the history and tradition of maritime Maine with the ever-increasing technology available to researchers and scientists, GMRI has created something special for kids. ![]()

We got to use technology that we wouldn't be able to use at school. At GMRI, we got to study as if we were real scientists. We learned a lot about the Atlantic Herring and how it affects the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. ![]()

My dream is to be a marine biologist and that field trip got me one step closer to that dream. I learned different parts of a fish, and more information on the marine food web. I had a great time and learned lots of new things. My favorite part was going on the pretend fishing trip. I also loved being able to record and see yourself on the screen. The whole field trip to GMRI was a great experience in itself. ![]()
