Evan Holliday joined GMRI as a LabVenture! Fellow in September 2016 where he runs the day to day functions of the LabVenture! program, including hosting field trips of roughly 50 5th and 6th grade students learning what it means to be scientists.
Prior to moving to Maine, Evan attended Oberlin College where he majored in environmental studies and economics, but focused on how to talk about environmental issues with a wide range of audiences. He's spent years teaching kids in non-classroom settings including summer camps and afterschool programs, where he spent time getting kids excited about recreational science.
Evan is a self described "gigantic nerd" when it comes to food science. "I love baking, pickling, preserving, fermenting, or anything else in those categories. It’s a wonderful combination of food, problem solving, and science. Plus it’s delicious!"
