Kelly joined GMRI in December of 2019 as a Grant Writer. In this position, she is responsible for writing, editing, and assembling proposals, reports, and other key communications for foundation and corporate donors. In addition, she also contributes to the development of content for GMRI’s social media platforms.
As a Masters student at the University of Rhode Island, Kelly studied coastal marine ecology and phytoplankton population dynamics in Narragansett Bay. After her M.S. she worked both in the lab and in a fundraising capacity to support marine science research programs. Writing has always been a passion for Kelly. She has frequently sought out opportunities to develop her writing and communication skills in both professional and personal life and enjoys doing it in a marine science setting.
When she is not writing for GMRI, you can find Kelly cooking some delicious dishes, discovering new music, and playing board games with friends.
