A gift to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute is an investment in the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and the human community that depends upon it. Through the fusion of science, education and community initiatives, we work to balance the stewardship and use of the region's ocean resources, promote stakeholder involvement in sound decision-making, increase the science aspirations of Maine students, and catalyze innovative and sustainable opportunities for a robust 21st century marine economy.

Our Compass Fund supports our mission and the essence of what makes GMRI unique and highly effective - our strategic focus and our entrepreneurial spirit.

Our LabVenture! program brings 5th and 6th grade students from every county in Maine to our lab in Portland for an authentic research investigation of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Gifts can be designated to support participation by students in a specific county or to support all students statewide.

GMRI's Leadership Circle recognizes the visionary supporters who have contributed to the GMRI Compass Fund at $1,000 or more annually.
