Sea State Lectures
7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Join us as we kick-off a new edition of our Joan M. Kelly Sea State Lecture Series. Our theme is "Ocean Explorers" and we begin with Director of the UNH Center for Ocean and Coastal Mapping, Larry Mayer.
Exploring Secrets of the Deep: From Deepwater Horizon to the Arctic
Over the past 50 years, remarkable advances in technology have increased our ability to map the seafloor, and now the water column itself. We will explore these new tools and the many exciting mysteries they reveal. Learn how we've used this technology to discover 10,000-foot mountains in the Arctic, uncover D-Day wrecks, and investigate important events like the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
This free event is open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Free parking is available.
