8:00 am to 9:30 am
The wait is over! Three years ago, a team of GMRI staff, project partners, vendors, and advisors began building an unparalleled learning experience for Maine’s middle-school students — thanks to breakthrough funding from NASA.
The team has worked tirelessly since then to create a state-of-the-art learning environment. In the new LabVenture experience, students will explore the impact of a changing climate on the Gulf of Maine and its key species, such as black sea bass and lobster (pictured above).
Now it's time to celebrate!
Join GMRI donors, staff, and education partners as we kick off the school year and re-open our Cohen Center for Interactive Learning. Our event begins with celebratory remarks and concludes with an opportunity to view the new Cohen Center and cheer on one of this year’s first student groups from Greene Central School.

This is a rare opportunity to learn about the classroom curriculum and teacher professional development associated with LabVenture, ask questions about education work at GMRI, and get a closer look at the strategy behind the new LabVenture experience.
