Climate Change Impact Already Felt in Maine

Aug 7, 2015

WCSH6: Scientists say Maine is already feeling the impacts of climate change, some of it positive but more negative. On the ocean, water temperatures have increased. Dr. Andrew Pershing of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland said in the past 30 years, sea temperature has gone up two-and-a-half degrees, and is forecasted to keep climbing. Fishermen have noticed the changes resulting from warmer water, including the appearance of some southern species in Maine waters.
