In October, our research team presented the John Annala Fishery Leadership Award to Owen Nichols. The award, named for our first Chief Scientific Officer, is given annually to an early career scientist who reflects John’s core value of industry collaboration.
Owen is the Director of the Marine Fishery Research Program at the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies. His current research includes collaborations with the fishing and aquaculture industries.
"I’m honored to have been chosen for the John Annala Award,” said Nichols. “The work that we do at the Center for Coastal Studies and at GMRI would be impossible without the support of the fishermen who strive to unite the fishing and scientific communities to do science that matters.”
