Gayle Bodge has been part of GMRI's education team since the summer of 2005. She serves as Science Learning Specialist, developing and delivering LabVenture! presentations to 5th and 6th grade students from every town in Maine. She also works with educators from across the state to create, test, and develop lesson plans and activities to support GMRI's 5th through 8th grade marine science curriculum.
Gayle came to GMRI with a passion to fuse marine science and education, with a background in both; BSc majoring in Marine Science from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, and an Education degree in Science from Unity College, Maine. She has worked throughout North America, from Oahu, Hawaii, as an Intern at Dolphin Quest, to Brier Island, NS, as a Naturalist for Whale and Sea Bird Cruises to Catalina Island, California, as an Educator at a Marine Science Camp. Now she is excited to share her passion for marine science with students here in Maine.
