Curt joined GMRI in June of 2006 as an industry technician. He grew up in Maine as a lobsterman and continues lobstering today. He comes to us with undergraduate degrees in history and biology and recently completed two Masters degrees at the University of Maines School of Marine Sciences. Curt is currently working on a project looking at codfish health and abundance on Cashes Ledge, an offshore ledge 70 miles from Portland that is closed to fishing and is also starting work on a project looking at juvenile lobster mortality throughout the Gulf of Maine. In 2007 Curt helped develop and launch an innovative new business called Catch a Piece of Maine which has pledged to donate ten percent of its profits to GMRI.
