The Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) is a rapidly growing and evolving institution with an integrated fishery ecosystem research program in the Gulf of Maine area. To assist the development of a solid scientific footing during its early, rapid growth phase, GMRI established a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). The purpose of the SAC is to provide high level, strategic advice on GMRI's current and future scientific directions to nurture our position as a credible, respected and relevant research institution.
The SAC is composed of senior natural and social scientists and research directors from a mix of academic, governmental, and non-profit research institutions. The SAC provides advice to the Chief Scientific Officer and President of GMRI, and through the SAC Chair, to the GMRI Board of Directors.
