Ian comes to GMRI by way of the Gulf of Maine Ocean Observerving System (GoMOOS) where he supports existing products and services as well as implemneting new standards based interoperable projects. With GoMOOS and GMRI merging exciting opportunities abound. Much of his work involves applying technology, mostly software, in enabling others to become more productive and focus on their areas of expertise. His most current project invovlves creating an EPA Exchange Network Data Exchange for the Northeast Regional Ocean Data Partnership.

Previously Ian has worked in mapping, medical imaging, electrophysiological instrumentation and for businesses such as Resort Sports Network and Centex Homes. He's an enthusiastic telemark skier, snowboarder, mountain biker and not as often as he'd like sea kayaker.

Ian has a B.A. in Mathematics from Colby College and an M.S. in Scientific Instrumentation from University of California Santa Barbara.
