GMRI is a rapidly growing and evolving institution that is developing an integrated fishery ecosystem research program in the Gulf of Maine area. To assist GMRI's development of a solid scientific footing during this early, rapid growth phase, GMRI has established a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). The purpose of the SAC is to provide high level, strategic advice on GMRI’s current and future scientific directions to nurture GMRI's position as a credible, respected and relevant research institution.
The SAC will be composed of senior natural and social scientists and research directors from a mix of academic, governmental, and non-profit research institutions. The SAC will provide its advice to the Chief Scientific Officer and CEO of GMRI, and through the SAC Chair, to the GMRI Board of Directors.
