Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Blitz!10 AM–10:45 AM | Online | Public
Get your students involved in the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Blitz to help control the spread of this invasive pest.
How is hemlock woolly adelgid affecting hemlock forests in our area? Where will it be spotted next?
Join the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Blitz with your students and become part of the effort to answer these questions. We'll kick off the blitz with a conversation with the project's lead scientists, Gary Fish and Colleen Teerling from Maine Forest Service, about why we need to work together to understand and manage this tiny and tenacious bug. You will work with your students to prepare for fieldwork, collect data, and then contribute your data to Project Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, using curriculum resources from GMRI. Then, we'll come back together with our lead scientists to share observations and questions from our work in the field.
