Science Café4:30 PM–5:30 PM | Online | Public
We are happy to release a new virtual edition of our Science Café — a casual discussion with our experts from the comfort of your own home.
The Virtual Science Café is a great way for the public to join us for a casual discussion about our current research, education program, and community initiatives. Grab a drink and a snack and join us in conversation.
For professional scientists and academics, scientific journals are a key tool for sharing knowledge and advancing research. Maine students have the opportunity to participate in this tradition by submitting their original research to the Gulf of Maine Research Institutes journal, Findings from the Field.
Join Meggie Harvey, Science Curriculum Specialist, on Wednesday, October 7th for an interactive discussion where you'll have the opportunity to engage with student's original work, research, and publication process for Findings from the Field, Volume 3.
About the Speaker: Meggie Harvey, Science Curriculum Specialist
Before joining us, Meggie worked as a 7th-grade science teacher in Chicago and Skokie Public Schools in Illinois. In that role, she implemented problem-posing science curricula for middle schoolers -- valuable experience which informs her work with our education team. Meggie continues her work to integrate authentic science research into curricula through her work with the newly launched Ecosystem Investigation Network and teacher professional development.
We will host this virtual event via the Zoom video conferencing platform. Zoom Meeting Info will be sent to registered participants via email prior to the event.
