Brenda Downs

Brenda Downs came to GMRI in April of 2019 as the Donor Engagement Specialist where she plans & executes fun and engaging events for donors and friends of GMRI to highlight the work happening here and bring people together to support GMRI’s mission. However, her connection to GMRI actually runs deeper and began nine years ago when she interned in the Development Office while studying Communications at the University of Southern Maine (USM). She mentioned that she "was taken with the organization right away and have always wanted to come back and be a permanent member of the team!" After graduating USM with a degree in Communications she went on to work in event management for over 10 years; most recently as Sales Manager at the Harraseeket Inn, Freeport Maine. She loves to travel and is always on the lookout for her next adventure with her most recent travels having taken her to St. Maarten, China & Denmark! She is also a big fan of dogs and chocolate so should fit right in at GMRI.
