William Brewer

Sponsored Projects Administrator, Pre-Award

William joined GMRI in December 2018. In his role, William is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Research team.

Prior to joining GMRI, William served as an AmeriCorps Environmental Steward with the Maine Conservation Corps, where he did fieldwork and data management for The Nature Conservancy's prescribed fire management program. Before that, he worked at Columbia University's Earth Institute providing administrative assistance to two research centers focused on climate change communication.

A native of Portland, William has a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Fordham University and a Certificate in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology from Columbia University. He is currently earning a Masters of Policy, Planning, and Management from the University of Southern Maine with a concentration in Sustainable Development and Geospatial Technologies.

In his spare time, William enjoys gardening, cooking, and exploring the Maine outdoors with his wife.
