This study will advance our understanding of how physical changes affect biological patterns, which then impact fisheries. It will shed light on how ecosystem changes influence economic incentives that feed back to the fishery and affect the abundance of fish. This integrated approach will serve as a model for other studies of climate impacts on human and natural systems interactions in the ocean. Long-standing relationships between GMRI scientists and fishery managers will ensure that results are integrated into management processes to help sustain fisheries in the face of climate change.
