Our team engages in a mix of work that spans traditional economic development, company creation, technical assistance, business strategy development and hands-on mentoring of select startups, and investments through our partnership with Bold Ocean Ventures.

Our Process:

  • Create: Commercialize internally-generated ideas, develop promising ideas that originate externally with partners, and combine market insights and GMRI staff knowledge to identify business opportunities.
  • Scale: Provide business-building support to enable investment, access to industry knowledge and science technical advisory services, and leverage network of regional partnerships and resources.
  • Invest: Secure a $15M investment fund as proof-of-concept for $50M fund, make targeted investments from pre-seed to Series A, and source pipeline from Create and Scale programs and network.
