Madison Moran

Annual Giving Manager

Madison joined the GMRI team in 2023 as the Annual Giving Manager. In this role, she will build organizational capacity as well as a community of people who care about global ocean health and the Gulf of Maine.

Madison grew up on the shores of the Gulf of Maine and has many memories of wading in tidepools, exploring marshes, and saltwater fishing. She went inland to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources at the University of Vermont with a focus on environmental policy. After college, Madison spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA with a program of DC Central Kitchen in Boston, which repurposed food waste into 250+ meals per week.

While living in Boston, Madison found herself in Maine almost every weekend exploring all that it had to offer on foot, on skis, or in a kayak. She moved to Maine in 2016 to work in nonprofit development and communications capacities at the Maine Island Trail Association and subsequently Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment. She immediately felt a connection with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute’s mission and is honored to be part of the team.

In her free time, Madison continues to explore and recreate in Maine with her partner Cody and their dog Barrett.
