Leading Our Community
Wind Rose Society donors are GMRI community leaders. By making a Wind Rose Society gift, donors receive access to organizational leadership, unique events, and insider information and expertise.

Wind Rose Society donors ensure healthy ocean ecosystems and thriving coastal communities.
As part of the Wind Rose Society, you will engage more deeply with both the work you are supporting and like-minded folks who choose to make their impact with GMRI. You will also receive invites to events, regular communications demonstrating organizational impact and sharing relevant content, and access to GMRI leadership.
Benefits and Experiences
We are pleased to offer unique-to-GMRI benefits and experiences to this special group of donors. In addition to a quarterly newsletter, we invite Wind Rose Society leaders to join us for experiences like the following:
-
Leadership Reception
An annual celebration for our Wind Rose Society donors, with opportunities to connect with GMRI leadership and each other, and toast to making an impact together.
-
Coastal Excursion
Our experts and community partners are working every day to solve some of the most complex challenges we are facing here in the Gulf of Maine region. Wind Rose Society donors have first access to these folks through mission-relevant events, in which experts bring donors into the field, lab, or community space to engage deeply with our work and impact in the community.
-
Frances Sail
Set sail aboard the Frances, a 74-foot sloop operated by Maine Sailing Adventures for a quintessential summer social outing. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a cocktail while sailing around Casco Bay with fellow Wind Rose Society donors and GMRI staff.
Wind Rose Society Events
We are pleased to invite Wind Rose Society donors to join us at events year-round. For many of our events, Wind Rose Society donors receive early access or free registration. Please get in touch with Madison Leaf, [email protected], for more details.
