Voices of the Gulf of Maine: The Oyster Farmer
Voices of the Gulf of Maine | Dec 13, 2016
Mook Sea Farm is an oyster farm founded in 1985 on the Damariscotta River in Midcoast Maine. There, owner and operator Bill Mook unites a passion for science and discovery with a fierce entrepreneurial streak.
This spirit animates the entire farm, and is even reflected in the company motto: “Our world is your oyster!” Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mook Sea Farm is regarded as one of the most innovative oyster farms in New England.
Learn more about the business and science behind sea farming as Bill reflects on the future of aquaculture in the Gulf of Maine.
Bill has been a key partner in GMRI's evolving aquaculture work. Learn more about how we're supporting Maine's aquaculture industry from President & CEO Don Perkins.
