Project Manager, MREM Program
Liz joined the Gulf of Maine Institute in 2020. She is currently the Project Manager for the Maximized Retention Electronic Monitoring (MREM) program.
Liz received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Master’s degree in Marine Science from the University of New Hampshire. For her graduate degree, she worked with local lobstermen and studied the recruitment patterns of the American Lobster.
Before joining GMRI, Liz was a scientific diver, a NEFOP observer, and a marine research technician for state agencies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Her work has spanned several coastal communities, ranging from Key West, Florida to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She also spent time volunteering with an oceanographic program in the Mediterranean Sea. Liz has spent most of her professional career working in the Gulf of Maine, and her experiences have enabled her to work closely with coastal communities.
When not at work, Liz enjoys skiing, hiking, and traveling with her family, which includes an adopted greyhound from Spain. Every few years, she attempts to run a marathon and then quickly goes back to hiking.
